Trenton Man Dies In Wreck That Shuts Down I-24 Eastbound Lanes At Rossville Boulevard

One person was killed in a wreck that snarled traffic on I-24 eastbound near the Rossville Boulevard exit on Wednesday afternoon.

He was identified as Roger Eugene Sutton, 50, of Trenton, Ga.

Chattanooga Police responded to the crash at approximately 2:47 p.m.

It was reported that a Toyota rear-ended a tractor-trailer that was eastbound on the interstate. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured. However, the driver of the Toyota was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Traffic was blocked for several hours.

Northwest Georgia’s Unemployment Rate Falls To 6.4 Percent In November

The Georgia Department of Labor announced Thursday that the unemployment rate in the Northwest Georgia region was 6.4 percent in November, down six-tenths of a percentage point from 7.0 percent in October.
