Art Car Weekend Is April 12-13

Art Car artists from across the country are bringing their mobile masterpieces to Chattanooga for Art Car Weekend April 12-13.  The Art 120 event includes an Art Car-a-van Friday and parade and party on Saturday.

Free public events on Saturday, April 13, include:  

9 a.m.: Tailgate Party at West 14th and Market
Art cars will line up by the Chattanooga Choo-Choo for free family fun. See the art cars up close, meet the artists, and vote for a favorite school entry.

Noon: Parade from 200 W. Main to 60 E. Main

7-10 p.m.: Art Car Ball at Miller Plaza
Dance music provided by Ashley & the X's, food, and art cars at night. This event is free to attend, but a portion of the proceeds from Art 120 partner restaurants benefit their programs.


Medal Of Honor Heritage Trail Dedication

The National Medal of Honor Museum of Military History will dedicate the first sign in its Medal of Honor Heritage Trail at the Lee & Gordon’s Mills in Chickamauga on Saturday from 1-2 p.m.  the public is invited to attend. Chief John Ross Chapter Of DAR Sponsored Genealogy Workshop

The Chief John Ross Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution sponsored a beginner genealogy workshop at the Bessie Smith Hall. Erlanger Finishes Fiscal Year With $18 Million Profit

After a major loss the year before, Erlanger Health System finished the fiscal year with an $18 million profit, officials announced Monday night. It was well ahead of the $2 million gain that Erlanger had budgeted for, and far better than last year's $8 million loss. Chancellor Rules That IDB Must Reimburse Attorney Fees, Other Legal Costs For Helen Burns Sharp On TIF Lawsuit

Chancellor Pam Fleenor has ruled that Helen Burns Sharp, who sued over the validity of a $9 million Tax Increment Financing (TIF) for a planned major development on Aetna Mountain, should be reimbursed her discretionary costs as well as her attorney fees.
