Westside Ruritan Club 5k Spring Run Is May 4

The 24nd Annual Westside Ruritan Club 5k Spring Run in Cleveland will be held on Saturday, May 4, at 8 a.m. 

Pre-registration is $10 or $12 the day of the race.  Pre-registration entries must be received by April 27.

The run will be held at Walker Valley High School.  The course starts in the front driveway of the school and goes right on Lauderdale Highway, right on Hughes Avenue, right on Mouse Creek, right on Lauderdale Highway and right into the school. 

Water will be available at the start and on the course. Water and other liquid refreshments will be available at the finish line.

Division and T-shirts will given to all pre-registered participants.  There will be first, second and third place medals awarded for each division and also first place overall male and female trophies. 


Chattanooga Firefighters Raise $80,507 For MDA

Chattanooga firefighters presented a check for $80,507 to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) at Station 1 on E. Main Street on Friday. Dalton Police Department Welcomes New Officer

The newest officer at the Dalton Police Department had his hiring confirmed by a unanimous 5-0 vote of the Public Safety Commission at its monthly meeting Tuesday morning. City To Begin Shipping Much Of Its Garbage North To Bradley County

City Public Works Administrator Justin Holland said the city plans to begin shipping much of its garbage north to Bradley County. He said the deal is projected to extend the life of the city landfill at Birchwood by 15 years.
