Ernest Charles Hammontree, 85, of Dalton, GA, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013 at his residence.
Mr. Hammontree was born on May 14, 1928 in Whitfield County. He was the son of the late Frank Charles Hammontree and Minnie Hammontree McCulley.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Charlotte Hughes Hammontree; sister, Eva Mae Smith; and granddaughter, Katie Hammontree Whitlow.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sandra & Grant Campbell of Dalton; son & daughter-in-law, Curtis & Melody Hammontree of Varnell; grandchildren, Curt & Melanie Hammontree, Rhett and Blake, all of Varnell, Heidi & Chuck Henderson and Kylie Rose of Ooltewah, Annie Chakles, Maggie Katie Charlotte and Bo of Varnell, Caleb & Sara Hammontree of Ringgold, Brock & Katlyn Hammontree of Varnell, Merriwether and Jacob Whitlow of Atlanta; sisters, Hazel Cox and Brenda Cline, both of Dalton and Darlene Albertson of Macon; and nieces and nephews.
A graveside service to celebrate the life of Ernest Hammontree will be held Saturday, June 22, at 10 a.m. at Varnell Cemetery. All friends and family are invited.
