Howard High School's all-state center Brandon Walters has signed to play basketball at Walters State Community State (Morristown, Tenn.) in the fall.
The 6-9, 280-pound Walters led Howard to the TSSAA D-I AA state semifinals and a 28-6 record this past season.
"We are excited to sign Brandon for the upcoming school year and know that he will big presence on the court for us," said Walters State assistant coach Darrian Jones.
"Brandon will not only be able to clog the middle and contest shots, but can also play the post and be a major factor in our offense."
Walters State was 17-17 this past season, finished second on the TCCAA conference tournament and lost in the first round of the NJCAA Div. I national tournament. The Senators have advanced to the national tournament six of the past 11 years.
Walters is one of five Chattanooga area players who will enroll at Walters State in the fall.
