Minnie Cox
Minnie Lee Cox, 91, died on Sunday, September 1, 2013.
Until her illness she was a faithful and devoted member of Greater Tucker Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George D. and Estella Smith; husband, General Cox; brothers, Leroy and Eugene Smith, and sisters, Mamie Smith and Janie Reed.
Minnie is survived by her daughter, Estella (William) Madison; sister, Lucille Westbrook; grandchildren, Terrance (LaTrice) Maples, Tamara (Michael) McKamey, Lisa (Jay) Slater, Pamela Cash, and Mark (Andrea) Madison; along with great-grandchildren, other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, please make any contributions to the Tucker Baptist Church building fund or to your local Blood Assurance.
Services will be held at noon on Saturday, Sept. 7, at Tucker Baptist. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church, from 11 a.m.-noon.
The body will lie in state after noon on Friday, Sept. 6, and the family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
