Butch Edward Brown
Police said a Brainerd homeowner hit a man in the head with a baseball bat after he forced his way into their home.
Kevin Miller, 38, said the man, 38-year-old Butch Edward Brown, threatened to come back and kill him and his wife.
Brown, of Greens Lake Circle, is charged with aggravated burglary.
He denied pushing his way into the house. He said he had gone there to get a tattoo from a friend named Michael Clayton, who lives with his father, Harry Clayton.
In the incident on Tuesday, Kimberly Miller said a white male she did not know knocked on their door on Alta Vista Drive. She said he insisted on talking to "Harry" and eventually forced his way inside.
She said her husband got up from the couch where he was sitting and struck the intruder with the bat. It knocked Brown to the floor. He got up and left the house.
Police said there was evidence that the door had been forced open, and there was blood on the floor.
Brown showed up later for treatment of his head injury at Parkridge Hospital.
Both the Millers and Police said Brown appeared to be intoxicated.
