The Chickamauga Chapter of the Daughters of the Revolution celebrated the 120th anniversary of its founding with a reception at First-Centenary United Methodist Church.
Those in attendance included State Regent Susan Thomas, First Vice Regent Charlotte Reynolds, Vice President General NSDAR Nancy Hemmrich, State Parliamentarian Luanne Dewitt, Chickamauga Chapter members as well as members of local and regional DAR chapters. Other guests included Douglas Fairbanks, pastor of First-Centenary; Carol Berz, city councilwoman; SAR State President Claude Hardison; Jason Eller, Tamassee DAR school representative; two great-granddaughters of the founder Amelia Morrow Chamberlain: Betsy Chamberlain Tuller and Nan Chamberlain Smith; and past regents Sue Ward, Gordon Scales, Marilyn Dammann and Carol Rogers.
Joye Duke was chairman of the event. Marilyn Long presented a history of the chapter at the historical archives table. Lee Parham is the current regent of the Chickamauga Chapter of the DAR.
