First Christian Church Participates In Operation Christmas Child

  • Wednesday, November 12, 2014

Members and friends of First Christian Church are invited to attend worship at 10:45 a.m. this Sunday, enjoy a luncheon that will be held in the Fellowship Hall following worship and participate in the annual packing of shoeboxes for the Operation Christmas Child project.

Samaritan’s Purse International Relief organization sponsors Operation Christmas Child to “demonstrate God’s love to hurting children in a tangible way by partnering with churches worldwide to deliver gift-filled shoeboxes and the good news of Jesus Christ.”

First Christian Church will serve as a relay center for Operation Christmas Child.

Other churches and groups in the Chattanooga area will drop off their shoeboxes at First Christian Church, which will be open several hours each day from November 17-24. The church will be open for drop offs during these dates and times:

  • Nov. 17: 1-4pm
  • Nov. 18: 10am-2pm
  • Nov. 19: 3-5pm
  • Nov. 20: 1-4pm
  • Nov. 21: 1-3pm
  • Nov. 22: 11am-2pm
  • Nov. 23: 12-3pm
  • Nov. 24: 10am-2pm

Following the final collections on November 24, volunteers will transport all shoeboxes to Red Bank Baptist Church, the Chattanooga area drop off center.
