Card-Monroe Corp. and Sun Trust Bank, both in Hixson, received a national Flag Award on Friday from the National Society of the Sons Of the American Revolution.
The awards was presented through the local John Sevier SAR chapter of the Tennessee society.
The Flag Award is given to businesses or to individuals who follow flag protocols for honoring the American Flag. One of the primary considerations is that the flag is properly displayed for patriotism and honor.
The award, established in 1987 recognizes those who have been nominated by local SAR chapters.
Tim Adams, president of the John Sevier Chapter, presented the award to Charles Monroe, president of Card-Monroe and Heather Rogers, branch manager on Sun Trust Bank.
