Review for Dopapod:
With no regard towards towards stylistic boundaries, the sound that emerges from Dopapod both live and in the studio is as varied and diverse as the many influences the band adapts from. Their approach and commitment to complementing a distinct genre bending sound with top-notch musicianship has set them apart from many of their contemporaries and keeps music lovers eagerly returning to shows.

The band’s upcoming fourth album, Never Odd or Even (out Nov. 11) is the quartet’s most fully realized work to date. The new songs embody the energy and cohesion the members of Dopapod have developed from playing live as well as an increasing comfort and familiarity while in the studio.

"The Never Odd or Even sessions cultivated a serious growth in the band's creativity,” explains guitarist Rob Compa. “Each person stepped up to the plate and put out great creativity and passionate playing, while inspiring everybody else involved in the project to do the same."

“We lived in Syracuse for over a month in total making the record,” says keyboardist Eli Winderman of the time spent at More Sound Studio (John Browns Body, Rubblebucket, Jimkata, Thunderbody) in Upstate New York. “Jocko's method to the recording process and attention to detail really sets him apart from other producers. He was like the fifth member of band in many ways.”

This considered production value compliments the band’s adventurous album, shifting tempo and dynamics are weaved-in without ever feeling jarring or off-kilter. The live show energy is captured on every track and now fans can relive that experience or get ready for the next time through town.

Dopapod’s commitment to touring has seen the young, yet seasoned group make appearances at numerous festivals including Bonnaroo, Burning Man, Camp Bisco, Mountain Jam, Gathering Of the Vibes, Catskill Chill, Bear Creek, The Big Up, Rootwire and more. Whether in a field or in a club, the band’s electric live showcase has been cultivating a fast growing and loyal fan base.

Dopapod is Eli Winderman (keyboards), Rob Compa (guitar), Chuck Jones (bass) and Scotty Zwang (drums).
