A fire damaged a home in East Brainerd on Monday evening.
A homeowner arrived home at 2410 Daughtry Lane to find his garage full of smoke and fire. At 5:30 p.m., the homeowner called 911 reporting a garage fire.
The Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department responded and reported heavy smoke coming from one side of the garage doors. Fire officials stated the homeowner was attempting to put the fire out with a garden hose before firefighters took over the scene.
Firefighters put the remaining fire out within minutes. Minimum fire and smoke damage to the house and estimated at around $5,000.
No injuries were reported but Hamilton County EMS was on the scene for any potential injuries.
The cause of the fire is undetermined and will be under investigation by the Tri-Community Fire Marshall's Office.
