Lifeguard Ambulance Service Celebrates Christmas With Home For The Holidays

  • Monday, December 22, 2014

Spending the holidays with family and friends is a dream that Lifeguard Ambulance Service helps come true each year for residents living in Chattanooga.

Each year, Lifeguard offers its Home for the Holidays assistance program on Christmas Day. This complimentary ambulance transportation service provides local residents living in skilled nursing facilities with an opportunity to spend the holidays with their families. Often times, these residents are unable to sit in a personal vehicle; therefore, a lack of specialized transportation separates them from their families during the holidays.

“Trimming trees, hanging lights, singing Christmas carols, decorating gingerbread houses, or opening presents is not what makes the holiday season special; it is making memories with loved ones while enjoying all of the Christmas festivities,” said Cindy Dycus, operations manager.

“It is a blessing to our team members to help other families spend Christmas together. Transporting someone home for the holidays is a small gift that Lifeguard Ambulance is able to give to the community.”

The holidays can be a very difficult time for families, especially if they are separated from their loved ones. Lifeguard Ambulance Service is excited to continue the tradition of offering its Home for the Holidays program and has one pre-arranged transport for Christmas Day.
