National Recognition: Sophomore Jasmine Joyner (Southaven, Miss.) was selected the College Sports Madness National Mid-Major Player of the Week and the team was selected the NCAA Team of the Week
The Mocs were 3-0 last week with wins against No.7 Stanford along with victories against Morgan State and North Carolina A&T.
Joyner averaged 11 points and 12 rebounds on the week and added 17 blocks to move to second all-time at Chattanooga. In the Mocs’ win over then-No. 7 Stanford, she pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds, just missed a double-double with nine points and had five blocked shots.
Against Morgan State, the 6-2 center recorded seven blocked shots, the most of any UTC player in the McKenzie Arena, and moved to second all-time at UTC on the blocked shot list. She followed that up with five rejections against N.C. A&T to lead the Mocs to a sweep in their Christmas Classic.

coach Pamela Buscher helped Illinois Central to the 1982 NJCAA national softball title and was inducted into the Peoria (Ill.) Hall of Fame in 1987 as a member of that team.

The Coyotes have won seven straight and lost by only eight at Kansas (68-60) ... three players score in double figures; Raeshel Contreras (17.8 ppg) , Nicole Seekamp (15 ppg, 3.5 rbpg) ) and Margaret McCloud (10.1 ppg, 7.2 rbpg) ... Coyotes lost to Stanford in the NCAA tournament last season ... SD averages 84.5 ppg.
