International Business Council March Meeting Features Sovee President Scott Gaskill

  • Wednesday, March 12, 2014

The Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce’s International Business Council will feature Sovee President Scott Gaskill to discuss how technology is helping businesses save time and money as they reach new audiences locally and around the world.  The event will take place on Thursday, March 27 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the INCubator, at 100 Cherokee Blvd.

Sovee, a Chattanooga-based company and 2013 Chattanooga Technology Council Early Innovator Award nominee, is making its way around the world with a learning engine that makes it simple to translate websites, live chat and video. Sovee’s proprietary technology can optimize video to play anywhere in the world, without any buffering, on virtually any device, browser or bandwidth. This cloud-based translation and video solution equips businesses to compete more effectively in today’s global marketplace. Sovee's solution allows companies to share their brands with more than 60 million Americans who do not speak English at home.

“The International Business Council’s monthly programs highlight Chattanooga’s global business presence,” said Nasera Souidi, president of the International Business Council. “We appreciate Sovee, a local technology company, providing resources for all companies growing and expanding in the international market.”

The March program is sponsored by Steam Logistics, a full-service freight forwarder and custom broker, founded in 2012 by the owners of Access America Transport.  This young company provides international transportation solutions across all modes of transport. Based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Steam provides a centralized solution to global logistics and trade compliance. Steam’s digitally-optimized, near paperless system consolidates and maximizes transactional data flow through cultures, companies, geography and time.

International Business Council meetings take place the fourth Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the INCubator, 100 Cherokee Blvd.  Admission is $10, and light hors d’oeuvres are provided.
