TVA To Survey Sport Fish On Chickamauga Reservoir On Tuesday

Thursday, March 13, 2014

TVA will conduct a sport fish survey on Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. at the Chickamauga Reservoir at Harrison Bay, Wolftever boat ramp at State Highway 58.

TVA annually monitors fish in various reservoirs across the Tennessee Valley and invites local anglers and the public to participate. The fish are collected using boat-mounted, electro-fishing equipment. The units harmlessly stun the fish for a brief time and bring them to the surface, where they are examined and evaluated by TVA biologists. Once weighed, measured and counted, the fish are released.

The event will be held rain or shine. For more information, visit: http://www.tva.com/river/fishsurvey.htm.

To ensure adequate boat space and safety equipment, the public is asked to RSVP by 2 p.m. on Monday, to Jim Hopson (mailto:jrhopson@tva.gov).

We Ought To Pay Our Own Way

The government is too big. It has never been bigger - by any measure. It spends more money than any other single actor in our society. From Blue Rhinos to providing telecommunications services, our government knows no bounds. We’ve gone from a free enterprise system to a public enterprise system.  I'm not an artist. I'm not terribly tech savvy. The part of government that ... (click for more)
