Miller, Glenn R. (McDonald)

Glenn R. Miller, 84, of McDonald, TN, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014 in a local hospital. 

He was a graduate of Ooltewah High School, class of 1948. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Glenn was a retired machinist at Standard Coosa Thatcher in Chattanooga where he was employed for 43 years. He was a member of Pine Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder for over 40 years. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, John T. and Nora B. Clonts Miller; sister, Reba Cofield; and infant brother. 

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Peggy Liner Miller of McDonald; brother, Dale Miller and wife, Anna Lue of McDonald; nieces, Jean Hammond of VA and Judy Faulkner of Canada; and nephews, Jim Cofield of Indiana and John Cofield of McDonald. 

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Russ Maroon officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Jim Cofield, John Cofield, Leston Garrett, Elmer Chambers, Chris Smith, Daryl Sliger and Russell Kelley serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. 

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday, April 21 at the Fike Funeral Home who has charge of the arrangements.
