Stanley Russell Jenkins, 83, of Chickamauga, Georgia, died on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at his residence.
A resident of the Chickamauga area for the past 45 years, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served during the Korean War and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chickamauga.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Eula Mae Ingram Jenkins; brother, Walter Jenkins Jr. and sister, Martha Poole.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jean Hollahan Jenkins of Chickamauga; two children, James Jenkins of Chickamauga, and Carla Donahue (Edward) of Albuquerque, N.M.; sister, Betty Stockton of Conroe, Tx.; three grandchildren, Clare, Caroline and Thomas Donahue, several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation or service held at the funeral home. There will be private graveside services held at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in Chickamauga or to the American Cancer Society.
