Monday, June 16, 2014

Cadence Coffee Company, after two and a half years at Patten Parkway, is moving to the historic McConnell Building on East 7th Street.

Shannon Greer, one of the owners, said the firm may be open as soon as Tuesday at the new site.

He said there are plans to add catering and delivery operations now that the company is closer to many downtown businesses.

There is also an opportunity for expansion at the site should the need arise.

The firm now has five employees.

The other partner is Brian Turner.

Mike McGauley, owner of the building, said a new entrance to the second floor is being built to the right of the new coffee shop.

Sluggos’s North Vegetarian Café Granted Beer License After Move On Cherokee Boulevard

The main concern of the Chattanooga Beer Board is to keep people safe. The holder of a beer license is given a permit that has the potential of doing a lot of damage, said Vice Chairman of the Beer Board Christopher Keene. Rhonda On The Prowl: Mojo Burrito, The Fresh Tex-Mex Go-To

A favorite go-to spot for Flash and me is Mojo Burrito in Red Bank. It’s the perfect late night dinner hangout, with its funky local art, hip overhead music, and fresh Tex-Mex concoctions. Innocent Until Proven Guilty, Even Athletes

From reading Randy Smith's column on the lawsuit against UT it is pretty evident that he never took a legal course in his life. I was under the impression that in this country one was innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. It appears this no longer applies to athletes(particularly black athletes) in the U.S. in 2016. I have always said that if I am picked for jury duty ... (click for more)

Roy Exum: Warmth For Cold Days

I come across all sorts of warm things every day and as we burrow out of sub-freezing temperatures for a day or two, shaking off ice and snow, allow me to share a few things for a change that may take the bite out of the winter wind. This is what helps me. * * * Judy Bellenfant, who has been a soul mate ever since we shared jokes in high school classrooms, sends along this ... (click for more)
