Franklin "Gene" Foster
Franklin "Gene" Foster, 72, of Rossville, died on Saturday, August 23, 2014.
He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends and retired from BFI, as a truck driver in 1998 after more than seven years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A.A. and Grace Foster; granddaughter, Samantha Leming and grandson, John Leming.
Survivors include his loving wife of more than 39 years, Mary Rollins Foster of Rossville; children, Patty Leming, Joe Foster and Kevin Foster, all of Nashville, Sandy Bidwell, Melissia Brumlow and Roger Foster and sister, Daisy Yates, all of Rossville; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 26, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel. Burial will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends after 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 24, all day on Monday, and prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
