Marietta "Reita Bess" Barker, 96, of Dunlap, TN, died Friday, September 5, 2014 after a lingering illness.
Miss Barker was born in Dunlap, April 15, 1918 to the late Dr. J. F. and Emma Davis Barker. She worked for Burroughs Corporation in Detroit, MI for 25 years, 3 years at 3 M Company in Chattanooga and retired from Dunlap Industries in Dunlap. She was a member of Dunlap United Methodist Church, Johnson Harris Sunday School Class, Sequatchie County Senior Citizens and Chapel Hill FCE Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Mary Ena Mackey, Leila Deakins, Ruth Barker, Grace Heard and Anna L. Swafford; four brothers, Bob Barker, Raymond Barker, Joe Barker and Haskell Barker.
She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. CDT on Friday, September 12, at Chapel Hill Cemetery with Bro. Terry Barker officiating.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
