Niche.com, one of the largest content startups in America, ranked Dalton Public Schools as the 16th Best District in Georgia with an overall grade of B+. Dalton High School ranked 36th as the Best High School in Georgia with an overall grade of A-, making it the highest ranked high school north of the metro Atlanta area.

Unlike other rating sites, Niche.com takes into consideration opinions of parents and students who are a part of the district or school. They give their input by taking surveys and writing reviews on various aspects of school districts and individual schools. Hard data, such as graduation rates, student outcomes, literacy and demographics, are also compiled as part of the equation.
