Sectional Volleyball Match-ups Set For Thursday

State Tournament Berths On Line For Winners

It's do or die time for seven area high school volleyball teams as they face the final hurdle before earning a berth in next week's state tournament in Murfreesboro.

Sectional play will be played on Thursday night with winners advancing and losers being finished for the season.

Region 3-A champ Sale Creek will host Jackson County while 3-A runner-up Silverdale travels to Goodpasture.

Region 3-AA champ Hixson will be at home to host Upperman.  4-AA winner Signal Mountain will be at home to face 3-AA runner-up Central.

Then in Class AAA, 3-AAA champ Ooltewah will battle Blackman while 3-AAA runner-up Walker Valley has to travel to Siegel.

The Division II quarterfinals will be played on Friday with D-II Class AA defending state champ Baylor hosting Hutchison at 4:30.

The GPS Bruisers were eliminated in the D-II opening round following a 3-1 loss to Harpeth Hall on Tuesday.  The Bruisers finish the season at 17-30.

Blackman at Ooltewah 7 p.m.
