McKenzie, TN. – The Dalton State volleyball team has four games remaining in the season and two of those are on the road this weekend.

The Lady Roadrunners carry their 11-11 season record (5-7 SSAC) to McKenzie, TN on Friday afternoon for a 4:00 p.m. EDT (3:00 p.m. CDT) match with Bethel at Crisp Arena.

The Wildcats (18-8 overall, 9-3 SSAC) are currently third in Southern States Athletic Conference standings behind Coastal Georgia and Mobile, but one of the three conference losses was at Dalton State back on Oct. 2. The Lady Roadrunners took them three sets to one.

Saturday’s game at Martin Methodist in Pulaski, TN. will now be played at noon CDT (1:00 p.m. EDT). It had originally been scheduled for later in the afternoon at the Curry Christian Life Center. Dalton State defeated the Redhawks at Bandy Gym in straight sets back on Oct. 3rd.

Coach Bruna Langner said defeating conference opponents twice in the same season could be difficult.

“I am sure Bethel and Martin will play harder than they did at our place,” she said. “We will have to play tough from the beginning to the end to win each of these matches.”

Dalton State is currently sixth in the SSAC behind Coastal Georgia (12-1 SSAC), Mobile 11-3 SSAC, Bethel, Faulkner (8-4 SSAC) and Loyola (6-8 SSAC) in that order. They play Loyola next weekend for Roadrunner senior night and then travel to Mobile.

Martin Methodist (6-21 overall, 4-8 SSAC) is just behind the Lady Roadrunners. Brenau (0-13 SSAC) and Brewton-Parker (0-13 SSAC) are the cellar dwellers in the conference.
