Dr. David Smartt
Lee University’s MBA program will host a Lunch@Lee Business Forum on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at noon in the John Nichols Room, in the Lee Chapel.
Dr. David Smartt, assistant professor of business at Lee, will give a presentation titled, “Is There Room for Moral Conscience in Business?”
"We are delighted to offer this event to the local business community,” said Dr. Shane Griffith, associate professor of business and director of the MBA program. “I am confident that Dr. Smartt’s presentation will provide an interesting perspective to the conversation about moral conscience in business.”
Dr. Smartt joined the Lee faculty in 2012, where he teaches Principles of Management, Organizational Behavior, and Business Ethics, as well as Organizational Theory for the MBA program. Prior to Lee, Dr. Smartt retired as a colonel in the U.S. Army, where he served as a chaplain.
Lee’s MBA equips individuals with a faith-based approach to senior-level leadership in industry, government, and nonprofit organizations. A focus on experiential learning ensures that students apply theory to actual business problems.
Classes meet one night each week in a unique hybrid format that combines the convenience of online learning with the personal interaction of the classroom. No specific undergraduate major is necessary for admission.
The business department, chaired by Dr. Dewayne Thompson, received the coveted national accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs in the summer of 2008.
Lunch@Lee is free of charge and open to the public, but reservations are required as lunch will be provided. The registration deadline is Friday.
