A mobile version of the Guatemalan Consulate Office in Atlanta is coming to Chattanooga on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 21-22, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., in order to process passports, birth certificates and consular identification cards for the Guatemalan residents who live in the greater Chattanooga area.
Over the weekend, consulate officials will see close to 500 people at Orchard Knob Elementary School, located at 2000 East 3rd Street.
Every year, the consulate officials visit the cities with the largest Guatemalan populations in its four-state region -- Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. Chattanooga is one of the highest populated areas of Guatemalan residents in the southeast.
La Paz Chattanooga will also be conducting its 2015 Tu Voz Latino Community Needs Survey during the event. The survey is designed to assess the needs of the Latino community in order to help La Paz Chattanooga and their partners improve their services and programs to help this population thrive in the community.
