Preston Named Lee University 2015 Homecoming Queen

Brittany Preston was crowned Lee University’s 2015 Homecoming Queen during the halftime of the men’s basketball game as part of Lee’s annual Homecoming festivities.  

Ms. Preston is the daughter of Darin and Deborah Preston of Dayton, Ohio. She is a music business major and is involved with Residential Life and SLC (Student Leadership Council). She was escorted by Kendall Lane. 

Mr. Lane is the son of Mark and Michelle Lane of Marietta. He is an advertising major and is a student media editor and Street Reach Chaplain. 

The senior class was also represented by Haley Bishop, escorted by Benjamin Benavides; Ashlyn Poplin, escorted by Joshua Forakis; and Megan Sullivan, escorted by Zach Skinner. 

Ms. Bishop is the daughter of Jeremy and Amber Bishop of Cleveland. She is a psychology major and a member of Omega Alpha Phi, Pi Kappa Pi, and has been a Bradley County Young Life leader. 

Mr. Benavides is the son of Margaret and Don Benavides of Ten Mile, Tenn. He is a part of SLC and is a Gateway Peer Leader. 

Ms. Poplin, of Madisonville, Tenn., is the daughter of Debbie and Andy Poplin. She is a public relations major and a member of SLC and PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America). 

Mr. Forakis is the son of Jim and Amy Forakis from Savannah, Tenn. He is a biochemistry major and a member of SLC. He also serves as a Gateway Peer Leader. 

Ms. Sullivan is the daughter of Kathy and Tom Sullivan of Crofton, Md. She is an advertising major and is involved in Campus Crusade for Christ.  

Mr. Skinner, a native of Shrewsbury, Pa., is the son of Nick and Janice Skinner. He is an advertising major and is involved in Residential Life, SLC, and The Advertising Federation. 

Junior class representatives were Hannah Gilstrap, escorted by Alex Staup, and Katelyn Graves, escorted by Cole Tague. 

Ms. Gilstrap is the daughter of Becky Durham and Daniel Gilstrap of Cleveland, Ga. Mr. Staup is the son of Chris and Bonnie Staup of Bryan, Ohio. 

Ms. Graves is the daughter of Tracy and Sonya Graves of Nashville. Mr. Tague is the son of Kerry and Angi Tague of Beavercreek, Ohio.  

Representing the sophomore class was Anne Marie Amlung, escorted by Elijah Hammonds, and Genie Kurien, escorted by David Virgo. 

Ms. Amlung is the daughter of Pamela and Thomas Amlung of Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Hammonds is the son of Yvonne and Terry Hammonds of Neward, Ohio. 

Ms. Kurien is the daughter of Roy and Mereena Kurien of Gurnee, Ill. Mr. Virgo is the son of Joyce and Caralton Virgo of Athens, Gia.   

The freshman class representatives were Baylee Deems, escorted by Kyle Fisher, and Kaylin Gaylord, escorted by Torry Sheppard. 

Ms. Deems is the daughter of Bryan and Marla Deems of Dalton. Mr. Fisher is the son of Karla and Reginald Fisher of Mount Juliet, Tenn. 

Ms. Gaylord is the daughter of Deanna and David Gaylord of Muskegon, Mi. Mr. Sheppard is the son of Greg and Chrystal Sheppard of Spartanburg, S.C.
