State Representative John Deffenbaugh attended a special Naturalization Ceremony at the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta. The ceremony was led by Brett Rinehart, field office director for U.S. Citizenship.

After the Presentation of Colors and the singing of the National Anthem, the candidates for naturalization were recognized from their country of origin.

These new candidates, having gone through the requirements for U.S. citizenship, took the Oath of Allegiance. All in attendance stood for the Pledge of Allegiance. Afterwards, the 11 new U.S. citizens received their Certificate of Naturalization.

This was the first time a Naturalization Ceremony was held in the Georgia State Capitol.
