Man Found Dead In East Ridge Motel Friday Morning; Ruled Homicide

A man was found dead in an East Ridge motel on Friday morning. 

East Ridge Police responded to an initial report of an unconscious party in a room at Cascades Motel located at 3625 Ringgold Road.

Upon arrival, it was discovered that the subject was deceased.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the cause of death was a gunshot wound, and the matter is being treated by the ERPD as an apparent homicide.

The victim has been identified as Reginald Ballard, 21, of Chattanooga.

The shooting is believed to have occurred between 10 p.m. on Thursday, and 8 a.m. on Friday.

The East Ridge Police Criminal Investigation Division is conducting an investigation into the matter.
