UTC Men Host ETSU Tonght at 8, Senior Night

The UTC team will honor three seniors onight in their final regular season home game as the Mocs host long time rival East Tenn. State in a Southern Conference men's basketball game at McKenzie Arena at  p.m.

A win will give UTC its first 20-win season (during the regular season) since 1993-94.

The trio of Moc seniors to be recognized are Ronrico White, Lance Stokes and Marty Bareika.

OPENING TIPS
- The game is broadcast on the American Sports Network (ASN). - Chattanooga in second-place in the SoCon standings at 12-3. Wofford leads the way at 13-2, while Mercer is in third at 10-5. ETSU and Western Carolina are tied for fourth (8-7).

- The last time the program won 20 during the regular season was 1993-94 clinching it with a 71-60 OT win in the finale at Georgia Southern (2/28/94).

- Chattanooga and ETSU are both on three-game winning streaks, the longest currently in the Southern Conference. UTC has won 10 of 12, 13 of 16 and 16 of its past 20 games.

- The Mocs lead the series 44-33, 23-9 at home. The first meeting went to UTC 74-71 in overtime. Series notes, records and last meeting are on page 6.

- Chattanooga is 14-2 at home, 7-1 in league games. The squad is 26-4 in McKenzie Arena, 16-2 in conference contests, in Will Wade’s two seasons.

- The Mocs lead the SoCon in blocks (+6.1).

- Justin Tuoyo leads the conference in blocked shots (3.1) ranking No. 6 in the nation. The team is seventh nationally in blocks.

- Eric Robertson leads the league in 3pt shooting making 49.2 percent (58-118).

- The Bucs’ Jalen Riley (20.2 ppg), Rashawn Rembert (3.3/gm) and Petey McClain (3.0) lead the league in scoring, 3pt made per game and assist/turnover ratio, respectively.

SCOUTING THE BUCS
- 16-10 overall, 8-7 in the Southern Conference.

- ETSU is 6-6 on the road for the year, 3-3 in league play. Its road wins are at Winthrop, Morehead State, Eastern Kentucky, Samford, Western Carolina and UNCG.

- Head Coach Murry Bartow is 214-161 in his 12th season at ETSU, 327-244 for his 18-year career including six seasons (103-83) at his alma mater UAB. He is 6-6 against the Mocs, 1-4 in Chattanooga.

- Jalen Riley is the SoCon scoring leader at 20.2 points per game. He is shooting 37.8 percent from 3pt range (68-180) and 82.4 percent from the FT line (155-188).

- Rashawn Rembert posts 15.5 points per game leading the league in 3pt made per game (3.3). Lester Wilson adds 12.7 points per contest, while A.J. Merriweather leads the Bucs on the boards (5.8).

- Will Wade is 37-24 in his second season as a head coach. He is 1-1 vs. ETSU, 0-0 in Chattanooga.

- Wade is 26-4 at home, 10-18 away and 1-2 in neutral site contests in his career.

- Wade is 24-7 in SoCon contests, 15-2 at home, 9-5 away.

STATS STAT!  
- Chattanooga’s 12-3 start in league play is the best since 1992-93 (13-2 through 15 games). That team went 16-2.

- Duke Ethridge is averaging 8.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per contest over the last four shooting 56.5 percent (13-23).

- Casey Jones is shooting 57.1 percent (40-70) over last six. In the last seven, he’s posted half of his 20-point games (4) over this span along with two 20 & 10 double-doubles.
