Kitchen Fire Damages Dallas Bay Home

A kitchen fired damaged a home on Tuesday morning in the Dallas Bay area. A renter called 911 at 7 a.m. reporting a kitchen fire at her duplex home.

The Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department responded to Leatherwood Trail and confirmed a stove fire in the kitchen. Firefighters worked quickly to drag the stove out of the residence and extinguish it in the yard.

Fire officials reported debris under the heat elements of the stove started the fire.

No injuries were reported. Damages are listed at $3,000.

The female renter and her two children will be staying with family members.
