The Baylor boys soccer team earned a win and a tie Saturday in their own invitational soccer tournament to improve to 3-0-1 on the season.
In the opening match, Baylor tied Collierville 1-1, followed by a 5-0 triumph against Grissom (Ala.).
In the Collierville match, Clay Thomas scored for Baylor in the seventh minute while Jackson Bentley of Collierville tied the match with a goal in the 73rd minute.
Shots: Collierville, 4-2
Colin Brewer had three saves for Baylor.
In the Grissom match, George Pettway scored to goals, while Kyle Johnston had a goal and an assist. Henry Hooks and Victor Ulmo also scored for the Red Raiders.
"We started off very slow but picked up the pace quickly in the second half," Baylor's Curtis Blair said after the game. "I thought our focus was much better in the second half. We still have not played a full quality 80 minutes of soccer but our guys are putting in the work."
