Larry Clint Humphrey, 60, of Cleveland, TN, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015 in a local hospital.
He was a graduate of Cleveland High School and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Larry was retired as an accountant. He was a member of Waterville Baptist Church and served as a deacon at Westwood Baptist Church for many years. He was an Ole Miss Rebel football fan and loved to clean and tinker with his cars. Larry married his prom sweetheart and they were married for 37 years. He had one granddaughter who was the apple of his eye, his “pretty girl”.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, C. H. Humphrey and Marie Conner Humphrey.
Survivors include his wife, Marquetta Miller Humphrey of Cleveland; children, Clint Reed Humphrey of Cleveland and Christina Lynn Broome and husband, Jake of Knoxville; granddaughter, Della Marie Broome; brother, Donald Lewis Humphrey and wife, Charlotte of Mooresville, NC; nieces and nephews, Scott A. Humphrey of Southern Pines, NC, Crystal H. Alexander and husband, Bradley of Davidson, NC and Megan Phillips Varnell and husband, Jake of Cleveland; two aunts; and several cousins.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Jim Caywood and the Reverend Allan Lovelace officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Leroy Smith, Eddie Carson, Melvin Elder, Scott Humphrey, Terry Forshee, Dennis Anderson, Fred Henderson and Jesse Taylor serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Carder and Dr. Mike Mazzolini. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
His family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17 and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, March 18 at the Fike Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
