John Steele
John Steele, 63, of Chattanooga died on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at his residence.
He was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga where he worked for Randy Wilson Painting for over 20 years. He was a member of Mile Straight Baptist Church and he loved his children, grandchildren, and he reared several children as his own.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca Steele Ricketts; parents, Ottis and Betty Steele; and sisters, Alice Simpson and Carolyn Walker.
Survivors include his children, James Walton, Pracey Steele, John Walton, David Steele, Kelly Steele, Robert Ricketts, Misty Ricketts (Jeff James), and Kimberly (Keith) Pilcher; grandchildren, Corbin, Robert, Jr., Makayla Ricketts, Haven and Jeremy Burnette, Morgan Gregg, Jocelyn James, Alexis, Brittany, Celsey, and Carley Brown, Brandon Pilcher, and Miranda Haas; great-granddaughter, Scarlett Haas; brothers, Gary and Michael Steele, niece, Candace Frederick; great niece, Keyara Davis; and great nephews, Christopher Davis and Steven Etheridge.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 2, at 11 a.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Reverend Al Goss officiating.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
