Velma McCarver Gifford, 89, of Trenton, GA, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 59 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Lillian McCarver; and brothers, JD and Buck McCarver.
Survivors include her loving husband of 68 years, Leon Gifford; son, Eddy (Peggy) Gifford of Trenton, GA; daughter, Leonda (Mitchell) Smith of Trenton, GA; grandchildren, Dana (Matt) Nethery, Josh (Amy) Gifford, Kyla (John) Castleberry, Ansel (Christy) Smith and Amanda Smith; great-grandchildren, Bryce and Brayden Nethery, all of Trenton; sister, Jean Wooten of Ft. Payne, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 546, Trenton, Georgia 30752.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday March 7, in the chapel with Mitchell Smith and Rev. Billy Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.
Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, March 6 and -2 p.m. on Saturday, March 7 at Ryan Funeral Home, Trenton.
