Kansas City, Mo. – Buoyed by a 5-0 win over Belhaven University in the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament, the Dalton State men’s tennis team (11-7) has moved up two places in this week’s NAIA Men’s Tennis Coaches Top-25 Poll.
As teams enter the final stretch of the 2014-2015 tennis season, the Georgia Gwinnett Grizzlies (12-2) continue on top of the poll, as announced Tuesday by the national office.
The final poll will be released on May 4th with the national qualifiers for the 2015 NAIA Championships in Mobile, Al.
to also be announced on that same day. Embry-Riddle (Fla.) (18-3) is second. Vanguard (Calif.) (25-1) is in third place and SSAC Champions Auburn Montgomery (19-5) is fourth.
Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) (19-1) is fifth. Xavier (La.) (12-2) is sixth, followed by Northwestern (Oh.) and San Diego Christian (Calif.). The SSAC’s William Carey (Ms.) (13-6) moved up a spot to ninth.
Concordia (Calif.) is now 10th and Coastal Georgia represents the SSAC at 11th. Northwood (Fla.) is 12th, Westmont (Calif.) 13th, and Bethany (Kan.) is 14th. The Roadrunners moved from 17th to 15th.
Graceland (Iowa) is 16th, McPherson (Kan.) moved up eight places from No. 25 to No. 17. Campbellsville (Ky.) is now 18th and Belhaven dropped four places from 15th to their current No. 19.
The remainder of the Top-25 includes Oklahoma Baptist, Cardinal Stritch (Wis.), Reinhardt (Ga.), Lewis-Clark State (Idaho), Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) and SCAD Savannah.
Tennessee Wesleyan, Martin Methodist and Middle Georgia State were among the teams receiving votes.
