The Brown Bag Music Series takes place every Friday in April at the Waterhouse Pavilion from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Scheduled to perform this month are: Dana Rogers, Nikki Ellis and Shane Morrow. The Waterhouse Pavilion is in Miller Plaza. This event is part of Jazzanooga’s Big Nine Jazz Series, events held to animate MLK Boulevard with the sounds of jazz.

Jazz on the Bluff, an annual event held in partnership with the Hunter Museum of American Art and the BluffView Arts District, will kick off Sunday at 11a.m. on the patio of Rembrandt’s Coffee House. The fun will continue from 12-4 p.m. at the Hunter Museum of American Art. Scheduled to perform: Tim Hughes Quartet, the UTC Jazz Ensemble, Undoctored Originals, Jazzanooga Youth Music Academy All Stars and Sweet Georgia Sound. It’s also free admission Sunday at the Hunter Museum.

Jazzanooga 2015 features a lineup of jazz performers including Take 6, Gretchen Parlato, Eric Roberson, JazzReach and Alan Hampton. But, the joy of Jazzanooga is in celebrating Chattanooga’s local music scene. The festival serves as a platform for local musicians, artists and creatives to share their talents in the city. An aspect of this year’s festival is the Big Nine Jazz Series, a week of jazz education, visual art and local music at various MLK Boulevard venues. The Big Nine Jazz Series culminates in a full day of family friendly music activities at Patton Parkway on April 25.

Jazzanooga, started in 2011 as a one-day community festival and has grown to a month-long celebration promotes Chattanooga’s extraordinary jazz heritage. The festival is supported by the Benwood Foundation, Lyndhurst Foundation, McKenzie Foundation, Blue Cross Blue Shield of TN Community Trust, EPB, Suntrust and the city of Chattanooga. In-kind sponsorship provided by Double Cola. For a full schedule and ticketing information, visit www.jazzanooga.org. Follow Jazzanooga on Facebook and Twitter @Jazzanooga.
