Siskin Children’s Institute Announces The Band Perry As Headliners For StarNight 2015

  • Monday, May 18, 2015

Grammy Award-winning sibling trio, The Band Perry, will headline StarNight 2015 on Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Chattanooga Convention Center. StarNight, now in its 53rd year, supports Siskin Children’s Institute’s efforts on behalf of children with special needs and their families.

Officials said, "As one of the most dynamic acts in music today, The Band Perry released their self-titled debut album in 2010.  The album offered up 5 hit singles, including the sextuple-platinum chart-topper “If I Die Young,” the platinum hits “All Your Life” and “You Lie,” the gold-certified “Postcard from Paris,” and “Hip to My Heart.”  On the band’s gold-certified second album Pioneer, frontwoman Kimberly Perry and her younger brothers Reid and Neil delved deeper into an edgy, rock-and-roll-inspired sound while staying true to their Southern roots.  Featuring the platinum #1 singles “Better Dig Two” and “DONE.,” Pioneer found the band widening their appeal and continuing to showcase their breathtaking three-part harmonies."

In February 2015, the band won the Grammy Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for their spirited rendition of country legend Glen Campbell’s “Gentle On My Mind.”  They have also earned 3 CMA awards, 3 ACM awards and 3 CMT awards. The Band Perry recently wrapped their first headlining world tour and are currently working on new music for their upcoming third studio album.

“The Band Perry is not only extraordinarily talented and entertaining, they also understand the importance of family, community and giving back,“ said John Farrimond, president and CEO of Siskin Children’s Institute. “We are honored to have them at StarNight for their Chattanooga debut. It will be an unforgettable evening that will benefit so many kids who need our help.”

Husband and wife team, Carla and Bubba Morgan, are this year’s co-chairs of StarNight 2015. “We are honored and proud to be this year’s co-chairs for StarNight,” says Ms. Morgan. “Siskin Children’s Institute holds a special place in our hearts and we’ve gladly been able to support the amazing programs the Institute provides to the Chattanooga community for more than 30 years now. We are so pleased that we’ve been able to pass the torch and instill these values in our daughter McCall. Over the years, McCall has volunteered at the Institute and helped plan and coordinate a tennis tournament that benefited the organization and continues as an annual event.”

Ms. Morgan received her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University Of TN School Of Law. She also served on the Institute’s Board of Directors and currently serves on the marketing and development committee. Mr. Morgan, a well-known business man, owns Southeastern Salvage and is a graduate of the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.

StarNight 2015 opens with a cocktail reception, beginning at 6 p.m., and a formal dinner followed by The Band Perry’s performance. An after-party with dancing and music from one of Chattanooga’s DJs will round out the night.

Guests can attend the full black-tie gala, including cocktail reception, dinner, dessert, musical performance and the after-party, for $300 per person. Eight-person tables start at $2,500. For tickets, visit www.siskin.org/starnight or call 423-648-1707
