Marion G. Fryar, 78, died on May 14, 2015, at his home in High Springs, Florida.

He was a co-founder with Joe Decosimo and Jerry Adams of the Decosimo CPA firm. Marion headed the tax practice of the Decosimo firm until he retired, except for a five-year period. From 1980 through 1985 he took a five-year leave and traveled extensively with his wife. They visited 48 of the United States.  After intensive training, he returned to Decosimo and retired in 2011.

He graduated with honors from the University of Florida and was a farmer for two years. Then he studied accounting, passed the CPA examination and soon thereafter began working at the firm where Joe Decosimo was a partner.

Marion was an extreme athlete as a handball player, a runner and a cyclist.  He ran marathons and 100-mile races, and rode in lengthy bicycle races for which he received many trophies and awards.  His weekly routine for many years was to bicycle from his home in Tiftonia to the top of Monteagle Mountain and home.

Marion excelled in all that he did.  He was an honest, honorable and regimented man who late in his life accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

His parents were Clarence and Helen Arwood Fryar.

Survivors include Lucy, his wife of 57 years, their son, Rodney (Sandra), three grandchildren (Jozey, Eli, and Jake Fryar), a great-grandchild, Erin, his Uncle Barney (Sue) Fryar, his Aunt Flo Fryar, his in-law siblings, Susan (George) Wilson, Maxine Adams, and James Arnold (Susy) Douglas, his niece, April Bailey, nephew, Christopher (Jennifer) Wilson, and several great-nieces and nephews.  He had many clients, friends and associates whom he cherished.

A memorial service officiated by Reverend Danny Henson will be held at 2 p.m. on May 21, at Tennessee River Place, 3104 Scenic Waters Lane in Tiftonia, contiguous to Marion and Lucy's former residence. There will be a reception after the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Marion's favorite charity, The Salvation Army, 800 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37403.

Condolences may be sent to the family at P.O. Box 39, Alachua, FL 32616.
