Boyd-Buchanan. CSAS Win In District 5-A/AA Semifinals

The Bucs of Boyd-Buchanan knew their opponent would be gunning for them Tuesday night in the District 6-A/AA semifinal game.  Boyd-Buchanan beat McMinn Central 6-0 in the regular season and after leading by just one at the half, the Bucs went on to win 3-0. 

"McMinn always plays hard," Boyd-Buchanan soccer coach Dustin Walker said after the game. 
"We knew they would come out strong and the did.  The played hard all game. We are thankful to get the win."

The Bucs were able to control most of the game allowing no shots on goal.  

Boyd-Buchanan opened the scoring 35 minutes into the game when John Beasley scored an unassisted goal. 

The game remained 1-0 at the half. 

The Bucs took a 2-0 lead in the 55th minute when Will Boyanton scored off an assist from David Ingram. 

The final goal came when Hunter Bradford scored assisted by Boyanton.  

"We knew we had to be patient finish our oppurtunities,"  Walker said. "McMinn did a good job getting to the ball in the box but we were able to get our foot on a few."

The Bucs will play at CSAS for the district championship on Thursday at 7 p.m.

CSAS 2 LOUDON 1 CSAS beat Loudon 2-1 in the other semifinal game.  Loudon took a 1-0 lead in the first half after a goal by Jesus Medina.  CSAS trailed 1-0 at the half.   CSAS's Dakota Matthews scored both of the Patriot's second half goals to earn the win.  Jack Bradshaw assisted on both goals.  

Cary Williams had four save for CSAS on six shots by Loudon.
