Middle Valley Church of God, located at 1703 Thrasher Pike in Hixson, will observe a special celebration of motherhood this Sunday, in the 10:30 a.m. service. Pastor Mitch McClure will present a special message titled, 'The Challenges of Being a Mother Today.' His message will focus on the changes in society that have increased the pressure on being a mother today along with coping mechanisms for mothers today. Brenda Erwin, a member of the congregation, will assist Pastor McClure in this message by offering advice for mothers today. The congregation will honor each mother present with a specially selected gift. Special presentations will be given to honor two mothers of the congregation, Dovie Brooks and Verna Benton, who are over age 100. The community is invited to participate in this special service.
