Hudson Returns To Lee As Volleyball Assistant

  • Friday, July 24, 2015
After being away from volleyball for one full season, Kevin Hudson will be rejoining the Lee University volleyball team and retain a position he held for some 23 season, assistant volleyball coach.

Hudson will replace Milica Krsmanovic and Jesse Elliott. Krsmanovic has accepted a high school teaching and coaching job in Arkansas while Elliott will relocate in Powell Butte, Ore.
and serve as lead worship pastor at the Shiloh Ranch Cowboy Church.

"It is a great opportunity for Jesse," said Lee head volleyball coach Andrea Hudson. "We will miss him. His knowledge of volleyball is awesome. Jesse had an opportunity to return to a church near his home and take full advantage of the degrees in religion he has earned."

But having her husband back works out well for the wife. Kevin Hudson is a highly respected volleyball coach and was a key figure in helping the Lady Flames climb to the top in NAIA regular season and tournament play.

Having Kevin back by her side works out well for one of the all-time leaders in volleyball coaching. The Lee athletic programs have completed the three-year transition period for full NCAA Division II membership and will be competing for top honors in the Gulf South Conference and region play beginning in September.

The head coach would only say that Kevin is "returning for this year." The couple is raising two boys and that pulled the assistant coach away last season. "The boys are excited about Kevin returning to the game," said Andrea Hudson. "They are a little older and enjoy being around our players."

The 2015 volleyball team will feature several new players. "Kevin does a great of teaching the game the way we want it played," noted the veteran leader who will be beginning her 25th season. "It will be exciting to watch this group blend together.

The volleyball team will also have a new graduate assistant.  Kayetan Borecki, who played Division volleyball in New Jersey, is joining the staff.
