Kiselik, Ronald Jay "Ronnie"

Ronald Jay "Ronnie" Kiselik, 83, of Chattanooga, died peacefully at home on Friday, July 3, 2015, with his loving wife of 59 years, Lois Winer Kiselik, his devoted son, Robert Kiselik, and many kind caregivers at his side.

He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Anne Kiselik Friedman of Atlanta, and parents, Rose and Jerome Kiselik of West Orange, NJ, step-mother, Judge Florence Riley Kiselik of New York, NY, and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Rose Prince Winer and Myer H. Winer of Chattanooga.

Ronnie lived in West Orange, NJ, until he came to Chattanooga to attend the University of Chattanooga. He graduated from U.C. with a B.S. in Business Administration. Lois and Ronnie were married in Chattanooga in 1956.  Subsequently, Ronnie served as a second lieutenant and then first lieutenant in the U. S. Army Artillery.

During the first 11 years of their marriage, Ronnie and Lois lived in New York, Fort Sill, Ok., and New Jersey.  Robert and Anne were born in New Jersey during that time.  In 1967, Lois, Ronnie, Robert, and Anne moved to Chattanooga.  Ronnie and Lois worked at Winer’s Department Store in LaFayette. In 1981, Lois and Ronnie became co-owners of Ronnie’s, a family clothing and shoe store in Trion, Ga. They retired in 1998. 

Ronnie was a member of Mizpah Congregation, past board member of the Jewish Welfare Federation, and past member of B’nai Brith in Chattanooga.

Ronnie will always be remembered and deeply missed for his kindness, thoughtfulness, intelligence, insight, sense of humor, quick wit, and devotion to his immediate and extended family and many friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lois Winer Kiselik of Chattanooga; devoted son, Robert Kiselik of Chattanooga; brother and wife, Paul and Teri Kiselik of Livingston, NJ; brothers-in law and sisters-in-law, Sanford and Elaine Winer of Chattanooga, and Minna Ree and Edmond Miranne, Jr., of Atlanta, GA; nephews, Daniel Kiselik and wife Dr. Alice Goldman of Short Hills, NJ, Jonathan Kiselik of Lincoln Park, NJ, and Arthur Winer and wife Mallory McCreary of Pasadena, CA; nieces, Barbara and husband Scott Schenberg of Tampa, FL, Aimee and husband Jack Small of Atlanta, GA, and Carole and husband Lance Osborne of Baton Rouge, LA; great-nieces and great-nephews; many cousins; and many friends.

The family thanks for their kind and compassionate care:  Devoted caregiver Ashley Rich, LPN; Dr. David J. Phillips; the entire staff of Hearth Hospice including Dr. Deanna Duncan, Lora Baker, LPN, Sharon Scofield, RN, Missy Day, CNA, Brandie Nelson, CNA, Samantha Baltazar, CNA, and Ilsa Ravelo, LPN.  Also, the Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga, especially Edie Redish, RN, Amy Boulware, Director of Social Services, and Cindy Powell, RN.  Additionally, Dr. Daniel R. Smith, Dr. Nicolaas Van Zyl; and Rabbi William Tepper of Mizpah Congregation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mizpah Congregation, Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga, or Siskin Children’s Institute. 

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, at Mizpah Cemetery, East Fifth St. at Collins St., with Rabbi Bradley Levenberg officiating.
