  • Wednesday, August 19, 2015

The truck driver charged in six deaths at the Ooltewah exit of I-75 will not fight extradition from Kentucky back to Chattanooga, where he faces six counts of vehicular homicide.

Benjamin Brewer appeared Wednesday morning in a Lexington, Ky., courtroom.

His fiancee, Charity Pennington, also was in the courtroom. She was taken into custody for failure to take a drug test after being released on bond.

Brewer could not be found for several days after the charges were filed, then he was located in a car with Ms. Pennington in Lexington last week.

Brewer is facing additional charges after three grams of crystal meth were found in his pocket.
