Sale Creek may be one of the smallest public schools in Hamilton County, but they have a very good volleyball team.
They proved it this weekend in the Tennessee Tandem tournament as they won three matches on Friday before losing two of three on Saturday before dropping a 2-0 decision against Covenant Christian in the Gold bracket.
Friday's wins came in two straight sets over East Ridge by 25-15 and 25-10, Stewart's Creek by 25-21 and 25-17 and Bolton by scores of 25-10 and 26-24.
Saturday's action began with a 25-14, 25-13 loss to Baylor before beating Berean Academy by scores of 25-11 and 25-18.
The Lady Panthers were on the short end of a 25-13, 25-23 score against Blackman before losing their final match by scores of 25-16 and 25-23.
Ariana Smith had 26 kills and 40 digs for the weekend while teammate Lauren Smith had 38 digs and four aces. Bailey Pugh 34 assists, Gracie Janow had eight blocks while Sydney Poe had a pair of aces.
