Dalton Sate Fourth At Thomas University Fall Invite

The number 11 ranked Dalton State men’s golf team moved up to fourth at the Tuesday end of the two-day Thomas University Fall Invite at Par-72 Kinderlou Forest Golf Club. The course was set at 6915 on Tuesday.

First day leader (13) Keiser University (FL.) (276-279=555) won the tournament by four strokes over the defending national champions from (1) Coastal Georgia (280-279=559). Darton (GA) (290-288=578) finished third, just one stroke ahead of the Roadrunners (291-288=579). (10) Webber International (FL) (286-295=581) was fifth.

“There were lots of positives this week,” said DS Coach Ben Rickett.
“We didn’t get the low round we needed to compete for the tournament, but we had a solid team performance and I am pleased with the way we bounced back from the Carpet Capital.”

Keiser’s Felix Aberg (64-68=132) was medalist by two strokes over Coastal Georgia’s Dillon Board (66-68=134). Keiser’s Adam Andreasson (68-70=138) and the Mariner’s Trevor Smith (71-68=139).

Dalton State’s Chase Jones (70-71=141) and Darton’s Hunter Mason (72-69=141) finished tied for 8th at three-under-par. Sean Elliott (74-70=144) was part of a four-way tie for 14th. Adam Morris (72-75=147), Dalton Johnson (77-72=149) and Levi Nix (75-77=152) complete the Roadrunner scoring. 

Southeastern University (285-300=585) and the hosts from (14) Thomas University (297-288=585) finished tied for sixth.  The remainder of the field included SCAD Savannah (292-300=592), Andrew (305-303=608), St. Andrews University (301-308=609), Abraham Baldwin (306-303=609) and Ave Maria University (304-319-623).

The Roadrunners will complete the fall portion of their schedule Oct. 19-20 in the Chick-fil-A Invitational at Stonebridge Golf Club in Rome.
