Both individuals wanted in connection with the shooting on Jan. 12 of a juvenile have been arrested.
Charles Melton, 19, was arrested last Friday by U.S. Marshals and the other suspect, a wanted juvenile, 17, was arrested Wednesday night by the Chattanooga Police Department.
Charges against the juvenile are attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment felony, and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.
Melton was charged with: attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.
The victim juvenile who had been wanted by police was shot at multiple times on the night of Jan. 12 and wound up at the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police were dispatched at 6:02 p.m. on Jan. 12 to the 1000 block of N. Hickory Street on reports of shots fired. There officers located multiple spent rounds of ammunition on the roadway. A crime scene was established as officers attempted to locate a possible victim.
At approximately 8:30 p.m. a juvenile victim arrived at a local hospital by personal vehicle suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
The victim said that he had been walking near Scholar Avenue and Hickory Street when a maroon Nissan approached and an occupant of the vehicle began shooting at him.
The victim fled on foot through a wooded area.
He was able to identify a suspect.
Police said the victim is wanted for several outstanding warrants which are due to be served when he is released from the hospital.
