Many questions remain unanswered about last week's "hazing" incident of an Ooltewah High basketball player that led to aggravated rape and assault charges against three teammates.
The County School Board is meeting in special session on Wednesday with the school board attorney.
No information was given on the topic, but it is off limits to the public.
School officials initially said the players who were charged were off the team, then said they were unlikely to return to school.
All of those charged are minors, with the oldest being 17, so the court proceedings are mainly secret. There is the possibility that prosecutors may move to try some or all of them as adults in Criminal Court.
The incident, in which a pool cue was inserted into the rectum of the 15-year-old player, happened at a rental cabin. The team was in Gatlinburg for a holiday tournament.
The team continued to play in the Smokey Mountain Tournament and has played three games since.
The injured player spent a number of days in a hospital, but he was recently released and is home resting.
Family members said they were advised there were two coaches as well as Coach Andre Montgomery's wife on the trip, along with three adult chaperones.
The incident apparently happened in a basement area of the cabin.
A juvenile judge has reportedly denied bond for two of the three youths charged.
