GAINESVILLE, Ga. - The Dalton State women's soccer team recorded a huge 1-0 double-overtime road victory Friday night, October 21 against Brenau University at Alex Creek Soccer Complex in Gainesville, GA.

In the second overtime, Rosie Lindo played a great breakaway pass to freshman Striker Adriana Romero, who lifted the ball over the goal keeper and found the back of the net for the winning score.

Rachel Hardin had 12 key saves for the Lady Roadrunners to score the shutout victory.
Lindo would get the assist on the Romero game winner.  Dalton State was outshot by Brenau 17-10.  Brenau also had 10 corner kicks to only 2 for DS.

"It was a huge win for our young program," said Dalton State soccer coach Kerem Daser.  "I am so happy for the ladies tonight.  We never gave up and competed for 105 minutes.  We will enjoy the win tonight, but we have a huge home match versus Bethel University Thursday night at Lakeshore."

The Lady Birds will be back on the pitch for a pivotal Southern States Athletic Conference match-up on Thursday, October 27 when they square-off against Bethel University at 6:00 p.m. at Lakeshore Park.
