Former Spring Hill Police Officer Indicted On Charges Of Rape, Sexual Battery

An investigation by special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the indictment and arrest of a Spring Hill police officer charged with sex-related offenses while on duty.                                                  

At the request of 22nd District Attorney General Brent Cooper, on Aug. 1, TBI special agents began investigating Spring Hill police officer Christopher Patrick Odom on allegations of sexual battery and official misconduct while on duty. During the course of the investigation, agents developed information that in June, Odom commenced a traffic stop of an adult female and initiated sexual contact with her during that stop. The investigation further revealed that on another date in July, Odom initiated a traffic stop of a different adult female. During that stop, he initiated illicit sexual contact with her as well.

On Monday, the Maury County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Odom, 26, with one count of rape, one count of sexual battery, and two counts of official misconduct. Odom was arrested Mondayafternoon and booked into the Maury County Jail. His bond was set at $75,000.

 Odom is no longer employed by the Spring Hill Police Department.
